Get Involved > Volunteer Opportunities:  

The Greater Mankato Diversity Council depends on the generosity of people like you to carry out its mission of building an inclusive and welcoming community. Volunteers are the driving force behind the Diversity Council, giving generously of their time and talent to serve in a variety of ways.

Here are just a few ways to get involved:

Committees

Awards and Events Committee
This committee organizes and supports various special events to promote and recognize diversity activities in the community. They are responsible
for planning and executing the GMDC annual recognition event.

Communications and Public Relations Committee
This committee develops and implements an annual communications and public relations plan for the GMDC.

Development Committee
This committee develops and implements a plan to solicit financial contributions from foundations, public organizations, businesses and individuals.

Education Committee
This committee designs diversity curricula and materials and delivers educational programs in schools, work places, neighborhoods, service clubs and other venues.

Board of Directors
(meets fourth Monday of July, November, January, March and May@ 4:00 p.m.)
The Board of Directors is the governing body of the Diversity Council, responsible for determining the priorities, programs, and strategies designed to implement the mission and objectives of the organization.

Prejudice Reduction Workshop Facilitator
Present Prejudice Reduction Workshop curriculum in grades K-12 and help this generation learn mutual respect. The workshops combine engaging discussion with hands-on activities. Facilitators receive all necessary training. Next recruitment cycle will occur in Spring 2007.
